Timeless Picture Windows
Picture windows are an excellent choice when you have a beautiful view that you want to frame without the hindrance of sashes or grids. Although these are not functional windows—meaning they cannot open to allow fresh air in—they can be used in window configurations with functional windows such as casement, double-hung, awning or slider-style windows.
Timberland Exteriors Inc. helps you choose the right style, material and finish for your new picture windows. Since 2003, our team of professionals has installed windows from leading industry manufacturers, such as Andersen, Pella, Marvin and Revere.
We believe it is an honor to work in your home and we don’t take that honor lightly. Our team listens to your needs because we want to deliver the best in products, craftsmanship and service to make your experience with us a truly positive one.
When to Consider Picture-Style Windows
Picture windows are best used in areas where you want to maximize views or natural light. However, keep in mind that since picture windows don’t open, if you want to enjoy fresh air in these areas, you’ll need to create a window combination that includes functional windows as well.
Bay and bow windows typically use picture windows in part of the arrangement to create a focal point that’s uninterrupted by grids or sashes. You can place a picture window virtually anywhere that you would a normal window, although they go well in areas with great views and in areas where you don’t need a functional window, such as behind furniture.
Since they don’t open, picture windows are more energy-efficient and low-maintenance than other window styles.
