• Aluminum – Aluminum weighs less than sheet metal but is just as durable. Keep in mind aluminum flashing isn’t suitable for all homes. For instance, the aluminum flashing shouldn’t be installed on the roofs of homes with concrete and fiber-cement siding. That’s because alkaline found in cement and fiber cement siding can degrade aluminum.
• Lead – Lead flashing is installed to cover the gaps between chimneys and roofing panels.
